Taggants
Microscopic taggants added to paper during manufacturing offer substantial protection against fraud by adding unique identifying characteristics into the paper.

Under normal light taggants are invisible, but when viewed under UV light, they become visible in various colors. Special formulations of taggants can give papers a covert identity that only a special reader can decipher.

Security Threads
Embedded security threads are a proven means of preventing counterfeiting or duplication of valuable documents. Three types of security threads are available:

• Basic metallic threads, provide simple, visual document authentication.
• Polyester threads take protection a step further with the capacity to carry micro-printed identifiers.
• Structured magnetic threads can carry encoded data that requires a special reader for authentication. Information encoded with this process cannot be erased, altered or duplicated.
