Scanning Precision, Operational Efficiency
High printing speed, excellent bar code contrast, resistance and portability have contributed to the undeniable success of direct thermal technology for most variable data label applications.
Appleton's impressive line of label face stocks is designed for virtually every label application and environment.
Though use of patent-pending UV-resistant technology, LightSafe resists yellowing for two years or more in typical industrial/warehouse lighting conditions – making it ideal for applications with slower inventory turns.
PolyTherm® film-based grades provide that extra durability, resistance and sharp imaging required for shelf labels, exterior labels and airline baggage tags.
When labels are used in hot environments the HeatSafe® products are the ideal choice, ensuring good scanning and legibility at temperatures up to 176°F (80°C).
The scanning precision needed with infrared or near-infrared scanners is assured with Appleton's Wavex® products - designed to give exceptionally reliable read rates when it really matters, as in the package delivery industry and medical and pharmaceutical laboratories.

The standard topcoated Résiste® label grades are formulated for most regular label applications and are available in a range of print speed capabilities with blue or black image color.
Other products available are non-topcoated Alpha® products for short duration labels and ThermArt® colored grades for increased label visibility.
