ISO 14001:2004 Certification
Demonstrating Appleton's disciplined environmental objectives and targets, we work according to a comprehensive environmental management system that is certified in accordance with the ISO 14001 environmental management standard. Appleton's Technical Papers manufacturing locations, in addition to its research facilities and headquarters have obtained ISO 14001:2004 certification.

FSC Chain of Custody and Product Certification
Appleton's internal processes and procedures that track Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified raw materials have earned the company FSC Chain of Custody Certification.

Appleton offers the widest range of FSC-certified carbonless, direct thermal and security papers. Appleton will label products as "FSC Mixed Sources" for customers who specify they want to purchase one or more grades of our FSC-certified carbonless, thermal or security paper products. This program allows our customers to make choices from a wide range of products to help them meet the needs of their customers. A Proponent of Recycling
Appleton has been active in recycling and has offered products containing recycled content for over twenty years. Approximately 50% of the fiber makeup of paper produced at Appleton's West Carrollton mill is recycled (pre-consumer).

Energy and Waste Conservation
50% of the total energy used at Appleton's Spring mill facility comes from waste products produced in the paper making process. In addition, all of Appleton's manufacturing plants are continuously working to make changes that reduce their overall energy and water consumption, as well as reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills.
