The film expertise at New England Extrusion (NEX) and American Plastics allows us to develop the optimal blown film solution for the application. With capabilities from 1 to 8-layers, we are a one-stop shop for converter sealant films and industrial film products.
We are known in the flexible packaging industry as a technology leader, with products such as Controlled Coefficient of Friction (COF) Technology™ products, Inflex™ for stand-up pouches, and X-Site™, our line of metallocene films. Our high barrier films meet the demanding requirements for packaging meat and cheese products.
The Controlled COF TechnologyTM products utilize a patent-pending technology to solve an age-old problem with polyolefin packaging films: lack of COF consistency and stability in the medium and high slip ranges. Utilizing enhanced analytical practices, in-we have developed the capability to more effectively target specific COF levels.
Targeting and maintaining narrow COF ranges before and after the converting process has been an ongoing challenge faced by flexible packaging converters. The Controlled COF TechnologyTM products address this challenge by offering tighter incoming COF ranges on the raw materials, a reduction in slip scalping from inks and adhesives, a reduction in slip transfer during and after the lamination process, a reduction in slip buildup on packaging equipment, and heightened green bond acceptability to adhesives. All of this results in consistent COF performance on packaging equipment.
